We are ready to make your day unforgettable! We will pick you up conveniently at your hotel at 8:00 am to begin this extraordinary adventure to discover two of the great natural wonders of southern Morocco. Prepare to enjoy a scenic 2 1/2-hour drive northeast through deserted hills, palm groves, and ancient towns to the picturesque village of Tanaghmeilt, nestled in the Atlas Mountains.
The Ouzoud Falls, among the highest in North Africa, will welcome you with their majesty. Their name, meaning “grain mill” in the Berber language, tells of their thousand-year history. Upon arrival, you will be surrounded by small, rustic Berber hotels, restaurants and colorful stalls selling delicious tajines prepared on traditional open-air charcoal stoves.
Here we will introduce you to your local guide who will take you on a leisurely walking tour lasting about 1.5 hours. As you soak in the beauty of the falls, you will listen to the roar of the water and be fascinated by the rainbows that form through the mists, creating a magical spectacle. Take photos from different angles to capture all the grandeur of this enchanting place. Finally, we will descend down the steps to explore the caves where water mills ground wheat, creating the prized flour of these lands. During this stop, you will also have the opportunity to take a refreshing swim or cross the river in one of the small inflatable boats to view the falls from a different perspective.
After this wonderful walk, you will have free time to visit the many rustic stalls and craft stores along the river. If you wish, you can enjoy a delicious and relaxing lunch overlooking the falls. It is not uncommon during the meal to spot the local Barbary apes that inhabit the area. A real experience not to be missed! On the way back, we will make a brief stop in the picturesque Berber town of Demnate before continuing on to Imi n’Ifri, an extraordinary place where a natural rock bridge connects to a complex system of underground caves. This will be an ideal time to take spectacular photos due to the breathtaking views of the majestic gorge below.
At the end of this unforgettable day, we will return to your hotel in the late afternoon or early evening. You will take with you precious memories of an authentic and fascinating experience, enriched by the beauty of nature and warm Moroccan hospitality.
We look forward to sharing this adventure with you!
