Marrakech to Ouarzazate

On the second day of our journey, we head to beautiful Merzouga, a town renowned for its towering sand dunes in Erg Chebbi, some of which reach a height of 150 meters.
Along the way, we will have the opportunity to see numerous oases and pass through charming Berber villages such as Touroug.

An important stop will be Rissani, Morocco’s first imperial city, formerly known as Sijilmassa, which was an important transit center for caravans between Morocco, Mali and Niger.
We will visit its bustling souk, full of spices, vegetables and colorful textiles.

After a delicious lunch that will include local specialties such as Matfouna, a stuffed flatbread typical of the region, we will resume our journey until we reach our riad, where mint tea and our camel friends await us.

An unforgettable camel ride of about 90 minutes will take us to the Berber camp, an oasis of tranquility among the spectacular sand dunes.
Here, comfortable Berber tents will welcome us for a magical evening of walks in the dunes, a traditional dinner served under a breathtaking starry sky, and enchanting Berber melodies around the campfire.

After a tasty breakfast, we will have the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the local culture by visiting the village of Khamlia, inhabited by the Gnawa people, originally slaves from Sudan.
We will discover their unique music and lifestyle.

Not far away is the striking Lake Merzouga, a refuge for hundreds of flamingos and storks during the rainy season.

Afterwards, we will return to Rissani, an ancient imperial city also known as Sijilmassa, famous for its lively souk, where we will see a variety of spices, vegetables and colorful textiles.

After a tasty lunch of local specialties, such as Matfouna, a stuffed flatbread typical of the region, we will leave Rissani to return to our riad, where we will leave our bulky luggage in secure rooms.

We will then take our camel friends for an unforgettable desert adventure, culminating in the Berber camp nestled among the striking sand dunes.

Here, comfortable Berber tents will be our refuge, providing us with an authentic and enchanting atmosphere. We can stroll through the dunes, enjoy a delicious traditional dinner, and let the Berber rhythms carry us around the fire under a starry sky.

Let’s get up early to climb the dunes and admire the enchanting spectacle of the sunrise coloring the desert.

This is the perfect time to take unforgettable photos. After a refreshing shower and a delicious breakfast in our riad, we will embark on our journey to Ouarzazate.

We will pass through Alnif, Tazzarine, Nekob and the picturesque Draa Valley, taking in breathtaking views along the way.

Our evening will be spent in a cozy guest house in Ouarzazate, where we can rest and relax after an adventurous day.

After a tasty breakfast, we will continue our journey to Marrakech through the majestic High Atlas Mountains.

We will cross the spectacular Tizi n’ Tichka pass, which reaches an altitude of 2260 meters, giving us breathtaking views along the way.

Finally, we will arrive in Marrakech, where our exciting journey will end.
